Places are available in our Sixth Form for September 2025 entry

  • Applications for Sixth Form external applicants will open on Monday 4th November at 9am and close on Monday 3rd February 2025 at 3pm.

  • The Sixth Form Open Evening will be held in school on 20th November 5pm-7pm. This is a drop in even for applicants and parents/carers and there is no need to book.

Learning Support in Sixth Form

AGSB offers a wide range of Learning Support to students across all year groups, including the Sixth Form. You can find out more in the Learning Support area.

We offer a comprehensive transition process to all external candidates who join our Sixth Form. Understanding any additional learning needs they may have is an important part of this process. If your child receives a conditional offer of a place on 1st May, you will be contacted with information regarding an opportunity to visit the school in June/July. As part of this process, you can also have an initial conversation with the SENDCo regarding support.

If your child is successful in gaining a place at our school on GCSE Results day, then the Learning Support Team will be in touch with you again to discuss their support package in more detail.

Students with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for Sixth Form

The admission of students with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is dealt with by a completely separate procedure.

This procedure is integral to the making and maintaining of EHCPs by the student’s home Local Education Authority. Details of this separate procedure are set out in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice. An EHCP student naming the school for Sixth Form entry will be admitted if the school deems their needs can be accommodated.

Please note that ALL applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements as set out in our Admissions Policy in order to be considered for a place in the AGSB Sixth Form.
