Years 7-11

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is usually oversubscribed for all year groups in terms of those wishing to join the school, and places available.

Applicants who wish to be assessed for an in-year transfer to AGSB must apply through Trafford Council Application Portal - LINK . Applicants should apply only once per academic year.

Trafford Local Authority will notify AGSB of applicants who wish to be assessed and AGSB Admissions will contact parents/carers by email regarding the next steps. Please note this can take several weeks from the date of application.

Assessments will normally take place in June of the relevant academic year. However, should a place in a particular year group become available prior to this date, then AGSB will invite all applicants to sit the assessment at a specified time and date in school, giving a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice.
