Altrincham Grammar School for Boys Celebrates Another Outstanding Year of GCSE Results

Students at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys are celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results this year.......

.....with 82% of all exams awarded the prestigious top grades of 7, 8, or 9 (equivalent to A/A*).   Impressively, 64% of entries achieved grade 8 or higher, and 37% secured the coveted grade 9 - marking the highest proportion in the school’s history. The students are now very well set to thrive in their future studies in the Sixth Form.

Graeme Wright, Head Master, commented:

“I would like to congratulate all the boys on their achievements. They have attained outstanding results despite having suffered a disrupted secondary education. One must remember that this cohort was in Year 7 when the pandemic began, meaning their early years of secondary education were significantly disrupted.

They have, however, risen to these challenges through displaying great dedication, personal resilience, and academic aspiration. Beyond their studies, they have also enriched the broader life of the school, excelling in areas such as music, drama, debating, and sport. I am looking forward to seeing the boys return to the Sixth Form in September where they will be able to build on these great performances."

Mr. Wright added, “I would like to thank the parents for all the support they have provided and also our teachers for their inspirational teaching and, moreover, their care for the boys.”
