request for a DDI for a school Trip

DDI (Direct Dialling In) is a telephone number that can be added to your 3CX account temporarily if you wish to give parents a telephone number to be contactable during a trip.

This is primarily for trips abroad or in the UK (outside of school working hours.)

Staff can use their 3CX app to call a parent at any time without a DDI, and it will display the school number.

Trips during school hours, do not need a DDI as a parent can call school and reception can forward a call to your 3CX extension wherever you are. (assuming you give parents and reception that instruction/option.)

Because this system uses data we do recommend where possible to be in a Wifi zone when making calls.

Please give a minimum of 48 hours, preferably 1 week notice when requesting a DDI.

Your 3cx account shows your availability according to your timetable as it pulls through from Outlook. Therefore you will show as DND during those times and before/after school. If you wish students to be able to contact you during the trip because eg. they are remote please state Yes. If you only wish to make calls and not receive calls then tick No. Please always remember you can make calls at anytime regardless of your status. If you tick yes, we will make your phone fully available for the duration of the trip.
