Telephone number for school trips

PHONE REQUIRED DURING A TRIP????

  1. If you are on a DAY trip and just need students/parents to be able to call you during working hours 8-4.30pm then you can use your 3CX and tell parents/students to call the main reception number so reception can transfer the call to you wherever you are on the trip (assuming you have wifi/data)

  1. If you are on a RESIDENTIAL trip and need parents/students to be able to contact you outside of school hours then you can either:

  • request from Paula one of the few phones we have at school, subject to limited availability.

  • you can request a DDI (Direct Dial in) which is a separate telephone number you can give out to parents/students that can ring you at anytime during the trip.  This would be allocated to your 3CX phone.

If you require a DDI, we need preferably 1 weeks’ notice and specific dates you need it for ie. 1 day/week/month before the trip and for how long following the return of the trip.  (This allows to activate it on your phone and deactivate it afterwards so that we can utilise the number elsewhere.

I would also like to know the name of the trip so we can allocate this to the DDI so that when you receive a call on the phone it will identify it is a trip call rather than just a call from school

Obviously If you don’t need a phone, you don’t have to request one but at least the option is there in case you do.
